Hurricane WARNING for New York City, New Jersey, Poconos PA, Hudson River Vally

There is currently a hurricane warning, severe thunderstorm warning, flood warning for the entire tri state area for Saturday through Monday. Hurricane Irene approaching.

Hurricane warnings for: Poconos PA, Honesdale PA, Philadelphia PA, New York City, Long Island, Staten Island, Hudson valley Area.. and northward. Potential Category 2 or 3 hurricane expected.

This hurricane is currently heading NORTHWARD, passing the Carolinas and Virginia off their east coasts. The storm will continue its track DIRECTLY NORTHWARD, with projected paths between the NYC metropolitan area, and the Poconos in Pennsylvania.

This statement implies a flood WARNING for the same listed territories.


Flooding may occur where flooding normally doesn’t occur,  as upwards of 6-12 inches of rain is foretasted in the area. This is unprecedented, and precaution should be taken in any low-lying areas inland.

Storm Surge Warning for all coastal areas

New jersey, the Hudson River valley, long island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Boston

This is a hurricane WARNING, not a watch. Torrential downpours and winds up to 90mph will be as far inland as the Poconos in Pennsylvania.

Take necessary precautions, and expect power outages for several days if not weeks at a time.

Stay tuned to the proper weather authorities and news media for up to the minute updates for this hurricane.

EXPECT INCLEMENT WEATHER IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS SATURDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING:

New jersey, the Hudson River Vally, long island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Boston, Philadelphia, Poconos in Pennsylvania

Pay special attention to the following rivers:

If you are near these rivers plan to evacuate immediately:

East river and Hudson river(and Hudson river valley) in NYC, and the entire Delaware river valley including the Narrowsburg, NY and the Delaware water gap all the way down to Philadelphia.
