Since the late 1990s, Counter-Strike has been the standard for competitive on line first person shooters. Counter-Strike was released in 1999 as an add on mod to the already popular Half-Life serries, then soon took the world by storm shortly afterwards.

Today, Valve has been working feverishly on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive(CS:GO) for the past several months trying to get a playable model across several platforms including the PC, Xbox 360 and the PS3.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be the first, first person shooter to be available cross platform- That’s right, People on a PC will be able to flaunt their skills head on with the likes of console users on the same servers.
