 We begin our first series of tests of the Cannon Powershot sx50 with the following three videos. These videos showcase the powerful zoom on this non DSLR camera. This camera is perfect for the individual who want’s to pay a mid range price and still receive most features available in a more expensive DSLR.

In this video, we take advantage of the SX50’s ability to shoot at 240 FPS. For this mid ranged camera, slow motion video is crisp, clear and fluid with littler jitter. Watch as the tiny fire cracker creates a massive crater in the water its placed in.

In this video, the powerful zoom capabilities are showcased. Those eagles are about 500 yards away. The first shot was taken from the Narrowsburg bridge on the Narrowsburg, NY – Beach lake, PA border. Due to wildlife consercation efforts up and down the delaware river, Bald Eagles have begun to rebound in the area, particularly in the more northern reaches of the Delaware river.

This video was taken on the way home from filming the eagles. I spotted a group of turkeys crossing the road. Again, this video showcases the Canon PowerShot SX50’s zoom capabilities, as I am quite far from the turkeys.
