Can’t Connect to internet, installed Windows XP fresh, missing device drivers?

Originally published October 14, 2011

Q

I have a HP Pavilion A1730n -suppose to have windows vista but I do not have that disk, I have a Window XP Pro.
I have a list of “other devices” in my device manager with question marks…so no drivers

  • PCI Bridge Device
  • PCI Device
  • PCI Simple Communications Controller
  • SM BUS Controller
  • Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

Where and what are device drivers, which do I need, and how do I install them? I can burn a disk if need be…but I have a flash drive.

https://www.driverstorer.com/drivers is the best place to find the latest device driver downloads. It has a direct link to HP’s device driver download center. You need to find the motherboard chipset drivers for the HP Pavilion, and it should solve all those PCI device driver problems.
