Best Droid X, X2 / Iphone Kraken Trident Cell Phone Case Review

Originally published September 1, 2011

Welcome to another DS review, today we’re gonna run through a little narration overview on the  Trident Kraken Case for the Droid X cell phone- Alright, let’s get started.

This particular one is Ballistic Green and black. The trident Kraken is a polycarbonate shell with silicone wrapped exterior.

The touch screen remains very sensitive and easy to navigate with this case. Also, the screen protector does not stick to the screen.

All of the Droid’s buttons are fully covered by the case, making them slightly more firm but still not too difficult to press.

Data connection ports are covered with seemingly air tight flaps.. making this case slightly more  moisture resistant than others.

Another neat little bonus are dust filters on the front and back microphones as well as the speakers.
The case also has a camera lens scratch cover.

The quality of the silicone is very smooth and soft, yet slip resistant

Also after several days of use, the rubber does not pick up pocket lint nearly as badly as some others brands, and the screen protector is very tough and stays clean.

This company also makes a similar case with an extended battery. The standard Droid battery has about 1500 miliamp hours, while the trident Lectra series case comes with a 3200 miliamp battery. So theoretically you should get about double the run time for the phone.

It might make the phone a bit more of a brick, but if you’re taking lots of videos and frequently using wifi it might be a good investment. Hopefully we’ll get our hands on one of those so we can post a review on it as well.

Trident also makes cases for the Iphone,  as well as many other cell phones and cell phone brands.
