In this test of the Gopro Hero2, we put the camera through its paces. We were trying to figure out the best way to test the shock sensitivity of the camera, so we came out with the idea of shooting a full one gallon milk jug with a 12 gauge shotgun (2.5in no.8 bird shot, Winchester model 1300 with a shortened deer barrel) at point blank range. The camera and tripod were set about 6 feet from the pole holding the milk jug. We also chose the 120 FPS mode to make sure that the blast generated by the shotgun wouldn’t cause any disruptions with the camera. Sure enough, upon review and editing the film, every frame was processed by the Gopro Hero2 without any issues.
Not only did this test show that the camera has fantastic shock absorbing capabilities, but we are also getting better at rendering slow motion footage. Also, this test was a BLAST to say the least.
