I am getting an error message that there is something wrong with my graphics card, or graphics adapter. Are they the same thing? These errors are also telling me that I’m missing a related device driver whenever I try to play a videogame on my PC. Also, youtube videos are running slow, and seem to skip frames. What do I do?

A graphics card is the device inside your computer or laptop that controls how moving pictures (video) are displayed on your screen. Your graphics card does all the mathematical calculations behind the moving pixels on your screen. The graphics card device drivers are the programs that tell Windows what kind of graphics card you have, and exactly what that particular graphics card can do, and how it can perform. Without properly updated graphics card drivers, your computer will experience many graphical errors, amongst many other potential issues.
